Alfama · Lisboa · Since 2026

Two rooms with old bones,
held together by tile and light.

A pair of independently hosted apartments on a narrow street in Alfama, the oldest quarter of Lisbon. We're a small operation — two flats, one host, direct communication.

Our story

Alfama is a place, not a theme.

We took over two long-neglected apartments in a family building near Largo do Chafariz de Dentro and put them back into service — quietly, and with respect for how the neighbours actually live.

Our guests tend to be travellers who want to hear fado from an open window, cook a small dinner with what they found at the market, and walk out the door onto a real street.

Both apartments are directly hosted. If you write, you get the host — not a call centre.

The neighbourhood

Alfama in a paragraph.

Alfama is the medieval fisherman's quarter — the one bit of Lisbon that survived the 1755 earthquake. It's residential, hilly, and full of small squares where people still know each other. Fado came from here.

Five-minute walk: Sé Cathedral, Miradouro de Santa Luzia, tram 28.
Ten: Castelo de São Jorge, Feira da Ladra flea market (Tuesdays & Saturdays).
Fifteen: Baixa, Terreiro do Paço, the ferry to Cacilhas.
